A group known as the "Brigades of Mohammed Atta" has issued its second statement threatening the government and nation of El Salvador. The document states: “We are giving you 21 days to withdraw from Iraq, and this is the last deadline that will [followed] by blood... As we told you before, we will move the battle to inside El Salvador, and nothing will dissuade us from targeting your strongholds in El Salvador.” The group, named after 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta, is purportedly linked to Al-Qaida, though it is not possible to verify this claim.
