BaashirOn October 3, 2010, Jihad Voice in Nusantara released a video recording of an interview with Sheikh Abu Baker Ba'ashir, an Indonesian cleric  sympathetic to Al-Qaida and the Taliban, titled "Interview with Sheikh Abu Baker Ba’ashir Regarding Obama’s Speech to the Islamic World, and Some Other Affairs." In the interview, Ba’ashir, now 72 years old, criticized President Obama's speech at Cairo University, exclaiming that President "Obama wants tofight the Mujahideen using soft methods. Meaning, encouraging the Muslimsto stand with them and to fight the so-called extremists, and what isintended in extremists are the Mujahideen." Throughout the interview, Ba’ashir referred to President Obama and his predecessor President George Bush as "devil" and "Lucifer," stating "the infidels create deceit; the meaning of creating deceit is to create methods that are hostile to Islam, which one time used extreme methods like the devil Bush, and another time using soft methods like Lucifer Obama." Moreover, Ba’ashir rejected claims that Indonesian Mujahideen were involved in killing Muslim worshipers in Thailand, an incident that took place on June6, 2009 when masked men opened fire on worshipers inside al-Furquan mosque, stating "They [Mujahideen] are obliged to kill the infidels not the Muslims. If they were [truly]from the Mujahideen, then they must attack the Church or Buddha’s[worship] houses and their leaders who fight Islam."
