On March 25, 2011, Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula's (AQAP) media wing, al-Malahem, released a new video recording titled "O' You Will be Victorious People of Sunnah," dedicated to the current clashes in the south of Yemen between Shi'a Huthis and Sunni tribes. The piece features two suicide bombers, one of whom was able to kill Badrudeen al-Huthi, the founder and spiritual figure of the Huthi movement in southern Yemen, during a spiritual celebration in al-Jawf. During al-Huthi's funeral, a second bomber was able to kill close to 150 amidst a huge funeral that took place in Saada province in Yemen. The video also features Sheikh Abu Sufian al-Azdi (a.k.a. Saeed al-Shehri), an AQAP senior commander, who asserted that the operations were carried out because of the Huthi aggression against the Sunnis. He said that Huthis "would come armed and take over mosque(s). And they would bring a shaykh...and teach the children, with the power of the weapon, the Shi’a doctrine, and then...take over the entire region. Anyone who would oppose them or reject them in the region, either his house would be demolished...or he would be expelled from the region and his house demolished...”
