AQAP Claims Responsibility for Suicide Attack on British Ambassador in Yemen

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has issued a formal claim of responsibility for an April 26th suicide attack on Timothy Torlot, the British ambassador in Sanaa, Yemen. Identifying the suicide bomber as Othman Nouman al-Salawi as a member of the “Brigade of Sheikh Abu Omar al-Baghdadi”, AQAP said that Britain was targeted because it is “the main ally of America in the war against Islam” and it “gave the Jews control over the land of Palestine.”
