Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has released the 12th issue of its magazine, Sada al-Malahem, which includes an article titled "Nidal’s Project in the Resistance". The article discusses the November 5, 2009 attack at Fort Hood by U.S. Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan. According to AQAP, “The individual jihad model that Nidal represents is suitable for the upcoming period as security measures are being tightened. The individual operation is harder to discover and easier to execute.” AQAP also criticizes American Muslim organizations, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim Public Affairs Council, for their “commentary on the works of the mujahideen.” AQAP counsels that “Muslims in the West are faced with two choices, either to migrate from there or wage jihad within."
