Abdullah Azzam Brigades: And May the Path of Criminals be Shown

On December 23, 2010, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an Al‐Qaida‐affiliated offshoot operating in Lebanon, released its third official statement, sharply criticizing Shiites and Hezbollah, and accusing the Lebanese army of having no control over law and order in Lebanon: "that which controls the army and true dominator over it and true director of it, are the Shiites; as no decision gets made except with the permission of the Shiites". The statement pointed out that Abbas Ibrahim, a Shiite with alleged close ties to Hezbollah, is considered "a blood-sucker," and warned that should revolt take place by the Sunnis, "then the person to blame is Abbas Ibrahim and his likes, as he drags harm towards his own sect with his acts". The statement also condemned the army's invasion of homes, as well as atrocities committed against the Sunni population, in Majdal al-Aanjar and Khaled Valley".
