On July 29, 2010, the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) claimed responsibility for the July 26th car bombing of the Baghdad headquarters of the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya Arabic-language news channel: “In spite of claims by the apostates of having previous knowledge about plans to attack the target, and boasting about their ‘intelligence’ information and their ‘security’ procedures, the executing brother was able to arrive at the building of the wicked Satellite Channel [al-Arabiya] after infiltrating the security measures and a number of check points, which the apostates and the security companies that contract with them in building around the targeted area that connects with the fortressed Green Zone. And the explosives-laden vehicle bombing led to the complete destruction of the building’s interior structure, as well as the surrounding buildings…” The ISI warned that “we will not hesitate in targeting any party or media establishment and [we will] chase their units wherever they are present. As long as it insists on being a tool in the war against Allah and His messenger…”
