Taliban Interview with Taliban Governor of Paktika Province, Moulvi Sangeen

On January 10, 2012, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban) interviewed the Taliban governor of Paktika province in Afghanistan, Moulvi Sangeen. In the interview, Sangeen claimed that, under his leadership, the Taliban “have inflicted heavy financial losses and casualties…upon the enemy” and have gained control of multiple districts in the province. Sangeen disputed Western “false claims” regarding the effectiveness of ISAF air strikes against Taliban forces and rejected the West’s “propaganda” that suggested the Haqqani network operates independently of the Afghan Taliban’s authority.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban): Statement “Regarding the Despicable Actions Carried out by British Soldiers against Afghan Children”

On January 19, 2012, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban) issued a statement alleging that British soldiers “compelled two ten year old [Afghan] children” to participate in videotaped sexual activities with International Security Assistance Forces. The statement “vehemently condemns this moral and shameful act and points to this as an example of the ethical standards of the occupying soldiers.” The Islamic Emirate calls upon all Afghans to “take revenge… for these criminal actions” and urges all Muslim nations to “[cooperate] in any way possible in defeating this barbaric enemy.”

[The] Islamic Emirate holds the American occupiers, its congress members and the backers of this session responsible for this mischief and asks them to seize their hands from making such destructive plans.”

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban): The Video which Exposes American Transgressions

IEA.LogoOn January 13, 2012, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban) issued a communication responding to a video in “which American soldiers are shown urinating on the bodies of three Afghans with complete disrespect after martyring them.” The statement asserted “Those things which appear in the media every now and again are only a small fraction of the crimes which are perpetrated by the American soldiers.” The communication further warned that “the American invaders will witness the consequences of such actions and will have to confront the extra wrath and hatred of the Afghan masses.”
