Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban): “Formal Proclamation of Islamic Emirate’s Victory”

Written by Administrator Tuesday, 17 January 2012 00:34

IEA.LogoOn January 15, 2012, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban) issued a communication titled “Formal Proclamation of Islamic Emirate’s Victory”, asserting that it had “showed…openly to the world that it is a well-organized political power besides being a military power.” According to the statement, "The choice of Qatar for the inauguration of formal office shows the political deliberation of the Islamic Emirate. If this initiative had been taken in some neighboring country, it would have been another chance...[for] every day propaganda for [the] Karzai administration. If the office was inaugurated in Saudi Arabia, someone else would have suspected it because of the close bilateral relations of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. And finally Turkey could not have been considered an ideal place for the sovereignty and prestige of this office because of its membership of the NATO alliance. But Qatar having balance[d] relations with all sides and a prestigious status in the Islamic world is the most appropriate place for this kind of office.”

Written by Laith Alkhouri Tuesday, 14 December 2010 12:25

Abu Sulaiman al-Nasser -- the same Al-Qaida chat forum user who has previously posted threats to NATO, and the same user who posted the name and photograph of Stockholm suicide bomber Taimour Abdaly on the forums before any media -- has dispatched a new audio recording which again threatens NATO, referencing the "battle of Stockholm”. In his audio, Abu Sulaiman al-Nasser threatens, "I warned...you [should have] expected the fires of the battle to reach the heart of Europe.. The battle of Stockholm is the start of a new era in our jihad, when Europe will become the arena for our battles...Any [state] that chooses not to meet our demands, then it must await our attacks that will reach the heart of Europe.”

faloja.logoOn September 15, 2010, after more than a week of being offline, al-Shamookh Islamic Network -- currently considered the most prominent online jihadist forum -- returned to life. Al-Shamookh, which carries the media propaganda of Al-Qaida and its affiliates, rose to prominence after its predecessor, al-Falluja Islamic Forums, went offline on August 12, 2010. On September 15th, al-Falluja Forums posted a message on al-Shamookh, titled a "Statement Greeting the Muslims on the Arrival of the Blessed Eid al-Fiter." In the statement, al-Falluja administrators reiterated that "shutting down al-Falluja Islamic Forums is [to be considered] a complete shut down and without a [foreseen] return." The confirmation of al-Falluja’s shut down comes on the heels of the highly anticipated return of the forum by its former members, who had been directing their membership to the al-Shamookh and Atahadi forums. Moreover, al-Falluja administrators urged members and visitors on the forums "to take caution and wariness in corresponding via private messages...[and] to use Asrar al-Mujahideen [the Mujahideen Secrets] software and to not avoid this matter." The aforementioned software, developed by al-Ekhlaas Forum, is a coded-software that enables forum members to communicate directly with Al-Qaida's offshoot in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).

faloja.logoIn a July 11, 2010 online posting, an administrator of the Al-Faloja forum asserted that Al-Qaida’s “dangerous” English-language “Inspire” magazine "provoked" recent cyberattacks on the forum: "that and nothing else." He also asserted that “Inspire” magazine “is considered a unique transformation and a proactive hit in the history of the standing struggle between Kufr and faith; it even is a media martyrdom operation and I do not exaggerate in this description.” He promised an impending “good news of an audio attack that will highly pain you, through one of the media establishments, so await the slap and turn the other cheek for another.”
